Digital Platforms Associate - Communications and Marketing

The Office of Communications and Marketing at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, seeks applications and nominations for the position of Digital Platforms Associate. The Digital Platforms Associate is responsible for maintaining and enhancing university websites through collaboration with campus partners and teams, managing multiple digital platforms, and conducting thorough audits of sites and tools.

The Office of Communications and Marketing is dedicated to advancing the university’s reputation. Staff members support the institution’s mission and goals, promote its successes and achievements, inform and engage its stakeholders, and ensure the integrity of its brand. We craft audience-focused communications based on data, best-practices, and emerging trends.

The division comprises several cross-functional teams, employing more than 50 full-time professionals with expertise in design, development, video production, content strategy, feature writing, editing, marketing, media relations, internal communication, and special events.

Duties/Responsibilities
  • Provides support and assistance for campus websites, ensuring they align with the university's branding and communication standards.
  • Collaborates with campus partners to gather requirements, offers guidance on best practices, and implements technical updates or changes to their websites as needed.
  • Collaborates with team members to build and send emails within established processes and systems.
  • Manages multiple digital platforms such as WordPress CMS, broadcast email systems, campus calendar, and other digital communication tools.
  • Performs regular audits and quality checks on the university's flagship website (www.utk.edu) to ensure accuracy, functionality, and adherence to branding guidelines.
  • Collaborates with the web development team to implement updates, resolve technical issues, and enhance the user experience.
  • Helps ensure that the university's web design system is up-to-date, accessible, and follows best practices in terms of usability and performance.
  • Conducts user testing and gathers feedback to continuously improve the website's functionality, navigation, and content presentation.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Strong experience in website management, digital communications, and content management systems (CMS).
  • Proficiency in HTML, CSS, and web design principles.
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.

Qualifications :

Qualifications

Required: Vocational or technical training and at least two years of professional experience directly related to the position responsibilities OR Associate or bachelor's degree and at least one year of experience directly related to the position responsibilities, which may include internships or student employment

Salary

The hiring range for this position is MR06. Salary is dependent on qualifications and experience.
