The Kliment Laboratory within the Division of Pulmonary, Allergy, Critical Care, and Sleep Medicine at the University of Pittsburgh is seeking a qualified Laboratory Research Technician to further the group’s understanding of smoking-induced lung injury and lung fibrosis. This role requires an individual to perform tasks related to animal modeling of lung disease, animal husbandry and breeding, genotyping, animal therapeutic treatments, tissue harvesting, and processing of downstream experimental samples. This role requires close collaboration and communication with lab members and the PI.
Job Summary
Performs a variety of laboratory experiments and procedures. Prepares specimens. Oversees supply management. Operates and properly maintains equipment.
Essential Functions
-Execution of animal models of lung disease
-Breeding and husbandry of mice including genoyping
-Experimental processing to collect animal specimens and process for downstream analysis
Physical Effort
Must be able to stand and/or sit for up to 8 hours.
