Job Description

The Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry invites applications for a full time, 9-month, nontenure-track position at the rank of Assistant Teaching Professor to start as early as August 15, 2024 or when filled.

The successful candidate will teach both lecture and laboratory courses in introductory chemistry and organic chemistry. This will include some teaching in our robust evening program as well as some online or blended teaching. The successful candidate is expected to contribute to the advising of undergraduate chemistry majors and to other departmental and university service.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:
- PhD in chemistry (completed by August 15, 2024)
- Background in organic chemistry
- Experience teaching (as an instructor of record or TA) undergraduate chemistry
Candidates will be evaluated on:
- Experience teaching online and/or experience using Canvas or another Learning Management System
- Experience supporting the success of students from diverse backgrounds through teaching and mentorship
