Job Summary
The main goal of Office of Residence Life is to provide a comprehensive living and learning program on campus that supports the academic mission of the University. The Resident Director takes primary responsibility for achieving this goal in an individual residence hall through supervising staff, assisting students, creating an educational environment in the hall, and communicating with partners across campus.
Major responsibilities include:

Experience in higher education or working in a residential setting.
Evidence of administrative skills.
Good interpersonal skills and judgment.
Independence and professionalism.

Preferred Education/Experience
Master's degree in Student Affairs, Higher Education Administration, or a related field is preferred.
At least one year living and working in an on-campus residence hall setting is preferred.

- Oversee all aspects of building administration (monitoring security equipment, maintenance reports, room assignments, payroll, and various department forms).
- Implement and enforce policy (holding in-hall conduct meetings, train and implement safety and security policies and emergency procedures).
- Oversee academic programming initiatives.
- Provide for an environment in the residence hall that supports students' academic success.

Experience in higher education or working in a residential setting.
