JOB SUMMARY
The University of Connecticut is seeking an enthusiastic individual to fill a full-time position as a Security Administrator in the Information Technology Services division. This individual will provide support for the University of Connecticut's Student Administration application. You will be joining a team of experienced IT professionals managing multiple Oracle applications and providing technical services to the University community.
The successful candidate will provide analysis, design, development, and production services for the delivered Student Administration application as well as supporting PUMS, upgrades, and security maintenance.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
This is a full-time, 12-month, permanent position. The University offers a competitive salary, outstanding benefits including employee and dependent tuition waivers at UConn, and a highly desirable work environment. The hiring range for this position is $76,897 - $99,966. Salary will be commensurate with the successful candidate's background and experience. Other rights, terms, and conditions of employment are contained in the collective bargaining agreement between the University of Connecticut and the University of Connecticut Professional Employees Association (UCPEA).

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Applicants to this position must have experience with PeopleSoft Security LDAP Authentication, PeopleSoft Single Sign-on, and PeopleSoft Security Architecture components.
- Create and maintain PeopleSoft security roles, permission lists, user profiles, groups, dynamic queries, row-level security, and query security for all functional areas to address SOD and with least privilege in mind.
- Perform security access periodic reviews and audits and manages security issues related to compliance, audits, security breaches, and policy/procedure violations.
- Maintain and migrate security across multiple databases in support of database refresh activities.
- Build and run complex SQL.
- Independent analysis and requirements gathering.
- Develop technical documentation and communications.
- Provide training and instruction for user requirements.
- Provide analysis and planning working with colleagues across Information Technology Areas.
- Mentor and train new team members.
- Research and implement new functionality and technology.
- Recommend program standards for new technology.
- High degree of expertise and advanced knowledge of computer programming technology.
- Works independently and keeps manager informed.
- May serve as technical project lead and supervise other programmers on projects.
- Work flexible hours for production moves and occasional maintenance, 5:30 am – 7:30 am, and weekends.
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technologies, or related field and 4 years of related experience or an equivalent combination of experience, education, and training
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Understanding of the software development lifecycle.
- Excellent written communication skills.
- Experience with upgrading PeopleSoft PUMs.
- Experience upgrading People Tools.
- Experience using Web Services.
- Experience with Peoplesoft Fluid development.
- Experience with Data Mover Scripts.
- Hands-on experience in object-oriented programming.
- Experience working with Oracle Database environment.
- Experience with Windows and LINUX OS.
- Experience using Peoplecode and SQL trace to solve development and system issues.
- Excellent oral communications skills.
- Ability to work well within a team.
- Experience working in higher education.
- Three years of application and/or server programming experience.
- Experience with PeopleSoft Application Security Administration.
- Experience with upgrades to PeopleSoft environments.
- Experience writing and executing SQL statements.
