Description
The Department of Geography at Texas A&M University invites applications for an Instructional Assistant Professor in Geographic Information Science and Technology. This full-time, non-tenure track position will support our online professional Master's degree which focuses on the use of GIST in industry (http://geosonline.tamu.edu). The successful applicant will have the opportunity to teach both residential and online courses (3 courses per semester). Teaching during the summer will also be required.
The Department of Geography (http://geography.tamu.edu) has twenty-five faculty members with strengths in biogeography, climatology, geographic information science and technology (GIST), geomorphology, human geography, and human-environment relationships. The department is committed to enhancing educational opportunities to working professionals through a growing online program. Candidates will work closely with the college's distance education team with course development and instruction where appropriate.

Qualifications
We seek teaching expertise in GIS including web GIS and GIS programming as well as remote sensing. Domain expertise in the oil and gas industry is preferred, but not essential. Demonstrated experience in teaching blended or online classes, as well as face-to-face is desired. Candidates must have a Ph.D. at the time of appointment, or a master's degree and significant industry experience and have a strong commitment to excellence in teaching.
