Overview
The Keller Center for Innovation in Engineering Education equips undergraduate students, graduate students and faculty from all disciplines with the knowledge, mentoring and resources needed to conceive and execute innovations of personal and societal impact. The Keller Center does so by offering educational opportunities that bridge engineering and the liberal arts. This includes curricular and co-curricular programs organized around design, entrepreneurship and innovative teaching, at the intersection of technology and society. The Keller Center, founded in 2005 and based in Princeton University's School of Engineering and Applied Science, recognizes that innovations aimed at addressing today's complex, wicked problems require a robust partnership of the humanities, social sciences, science, technology, and engineering where the respective disciplinary expertise will be united utilizing design practices.
One of the Keller Center's flagship programs, the eLab, recently turned 10 years old. This program, which consists of a startup accelerator, incubator and year-long studio instruction, supports undergraduate and graduate student teams eager to further develop their entrepreneurial ventures through mentorship, instruction and connections to networks of investors, collaborators and partners. To provide critical intellectual direction to the eLab program, the Center seeks an Entrepreneurial and Design Fellow. The incumbent will work closely with the teams in the program providing bespoke mentorship and instruction as well as offering connections to networks of potential contacts. Partnering with the Entrepreneurial Educator and Entrepreneurial Program Manager, the incumbent will be tasked with designing the program's instructional goals, teaching modules and metrics.
The Entrepreneurial and Design Fellow interacts with Keller Center Entrepreneurial Educator and Entrepreneurial Program Manager, Entrepreneurship Specialist and Professor of Practice, undergraduate and graduate students, as well as other Keller Center staff, faculty, and University colleagues across the campus. In this position, the incumbent must possess exemplary expertise in how to support students in developing their entrepreneurial projects through mentorship and advising through a highly bespoke and just in time approach. The ideal candidate should have Entrepreneurial and Design expertise that includes having built a successful venture, significant design experience as well as experience working with/mentoring students of all disciplines. The Entrepreneurial and Design Fellow should be committed to developing not only the students' ventures but equally importantly the students' creativity, entrepreneurial expertise and confidence.
