Job Description Summary
Responsible for providing workstation and network technical support serving equipped classrooms, labs and offices and professional technical work in deploying applications used to conduct daily business, troubleshooting and supporting college desktop computer hardware and software on Windows and Apple platforms in an enterprise environment.

Must have the use of sensory skills in order to effectively communicate and interact with other employees and the public through the use of the telephone and personal contact as normally defined by the ability to see, read, talk, hear, handle or feel objects and controls. Physical capability to effectively use and operate various items of office-related equipment, such as but not limited to a personal computer, calculator, copier, and fax machine. Some climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, and repetitive motions.

Job Description Summary

Minimum Qualifications
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- One to two years of college credit (30 credit hours are equivalent to one year)
- Three years full-time or equivalent part-time work experience directly related to desktop management in an enterprise environment
- Associate's Degree in Computer related field preferred
- A+ certification a plus
- Ability to work with Windows 10, Apple (Mac) OS, Linux Operating Systems a plus but not required.
- Ability to install, configure, and troubleshoot both Apple and Windows desktop computers and laptops.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Active Directory, Group Policies, Windows Registry, DOS batch files, and PowerShell scripts.
- Working Knowledge of JAMF, macOS console/Terminal a plus but not required
- Working knowledge of Intel, M1, Arms macOS devices.
- Ability to use desktop management tools to create and deploy application bundles on both Apple and Windows computer workstations.
- Ability to install, configure, and troubleshoot computer hardware, mobile devices, and their software in an enterprise network environment.
- Ability to maintain and support software and hardware for assistive technologies.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and requisite software platforms
- Ability to use desktop imaging tools to create and restore computer images in both Apple and windows environment.
- Ability to use software packaging tools to create application installer packages including MSI and virtual application packages.
- Ability to use VMware Workstation tools to create, configure, deploy, and troubleshoot virtual machines.
- Ability to demonstrate initiative and high-level customer services skills.
- Ability to demonstrate strong organizational, communication, and time management skills.
- Ability to perform detailed work independently as well as in a team environment.
- Ability to respond to questions, provide resolutions, and technical assistance related to access of distance education, electronic information, and/or alternate media services

ESSENTIAL DUTIES
- Creates and implements software applications and workstation images for distribution on computer workstations for windows and apple, as well as creating application-deployment packages.
- Demonstrates proficiency in desktop management, msi packages, and imaging tools.
- Demonstrates high level customer services skills.
- Provides technical support to faculty, staff, and students.
- Provides technical support for authorized users of the college's enterprise resource planning system.
- Prepares computer-enabled classrooms and labs before each semester.
- Provides effective response to end-user issues and requests initiated through the PGCC and HCC technology service desk.
- Assists with the physical breakdown and reconstruction of computer hardware and workstations.
- Identifies and implements solutions to problems related to computer hardware and software malfunctions.
- Performs necessary repairs and maintenance of computer equipment as required.
- Initiates repairs for computer equipment under warranty.
- Documents, tracks, and reports status of tasks and projects.
- Creates technical documentation for all software and hardware procedures and problem resolutions.
- Communicates status of projects or trouble tickets to end-users.
- Responsible for communicating both technical and non-technical matters effectively in person and in writing with a diverse population.
- Meets with end users on a regular basis to discuss current issues and future technology needs.
- Researches specifications for hardware and software products platforms, including assistive technology devices.
- Assists in maintaining reference materials for computer hardware and software acquired by the college.
- Assists in maintaining an accurate inventory of hardware and software.
- Assists in collecting data that measures technology client support services (TCSS) performance and quality of service to improve TCSS work processes.
- Attends meetings as needed to ensure that hardware/software/network standards, procedures, and policies are adhered to throughout the TCSS area including at offsite locations.
- Tracks compliance of licenses in the distribution of software.
- Assists with the training of technical staff.
- Recommends changes in work processes to improve quality of service and efficiency of technology services.
- Maintains currency in technology related to the job.
- Works with staff members to promote a team environment.
- Works with minimum supervision.
- Contributes effectively to a positive work environment that demonstrates and supports a student success environment.
- Contributes to a team approach in the conduct of daily operations within technology support services.
- Reinforces and maintains high ethical standards of conduct and procedures to assist in ensuring the security of the college's technology assets and data.
- Sets up teleconferences, remote meetings, and distance learning systems.
- Delivers, sets up, and/or operates; audiovisual equipment and services.
- Provides assistance to faculty, staff, administration, and community patrons in the use of audiovisual equipment.
- Assists and/or performs equipment repair and maintenance services on a regular or emergency basis.
- Reports security events and work with the building security personnel.
- Works a flexible work schedule.
- Responsible for complying with all required college mandated training within the prescribed timelines.
- Performs other related duties as assigned

- Must regularly lift and/or move up to 30 pounds, but occasionally required to lift and carry equipment that can weigh up to 50 pounds and must setup computer equipment which involves pushing and pulling heavy carts, bending and crawling under desks for wire hookup and management.
