Lecturer or Assistant Teaching Professor of Spanish

The Department of Spanish, Italian, and Portuguese at Penn State (University Park) invites applications for a full-time Lecturer or Assistant Teaching Professor position in Spanish (non-tenure-track), to begin in Fall 2024.

Responsibilities include teaching introductory and intermediate language courses. Teaching load is eight hybrid courses per year or equivalent configuration.

Applicants must have native or near-native fluency in English and Spanish. A Master's degree or higher in Spanish or related field is required by the appointment date. Rank is determined by education and qualifications. This is a term, 36-week appointment (two academic semesters), with possibility of renewal.

In their cover letter, applicants are encouraged to highlight any interests or experience with online teaching, study abroad programs, course design, and/or recruitment of majors and minors.
