Job Summary/Basic Function
The Department of Theatre and Dance at Middle Tennessee State University invites applicants for a full-time, temporary (non-tenurable) faculty Theatre Historiography position (#130160) at the rank of Lecturer. This is a one-year temporary appointment with a possible annual renewal for up to three years. The start date for the appointment is August 1, 2023. The position is contingent upon funding.
The successful applicant will primarily teach courses in theatre history/historiography but is also expected to be able to teach courses such as Introduction to Theatre and other departmental courses as needed. In addition, the position requires the ability to teach introductory and advanced level classes courses, and directing one or more shows during the co-curricular season may be possible. Required Education
A terminal degree in Theatre is required by the appointment date.
Other Desirables
Applicants who can instruct content such as world theatre, ethnicity and race in theatre, African-American theatre history, theatre for social change, dramaturgy, and other specialties will receive special consideration.
