Duties and Responsibilities
1. Supports faculty, students, residents and fellows in study design (including randomization, sample size, and power analysis), data management, data quality checking and statistical analysis for all aspects of biomedical research, ranging from basic science and preclinical studies to clinical studies including clinical trials, genetic, epidemiological/population and health services/outcomes research.
2. Prepares statistical method sections and data analysis reports appropriate for grant applications, presentations, manuscripts and DSMB. Recommends analytical design for a broad range of data. Recommends the most appropriate statistical procedures for evaluation of outcome of studies.
3. Establishes and maintains functional log and fee-for-service system.
4. Interacts with data mining group in Information Technologies for data acquisition from systems on site as well as at other institutions.
5. Uses a wide variety of statistical procedures including but not limited to categorical data analysis, exploratory and graphical methods, analysis of variance, correlation analysis, multiple linear regression, time series analysis; logistic regression, survival analysis, spatial analysis, and non-parametric methods.
6. Performs other duties as required.
Minimum Education and/or Work Experience
Masters Degree in Biostatistics required; PhD Preferred
Required: 1-3 years of previous job-related experience
Preferred: 3+ years of previous job-related experience

-Experience in Orthopaedic Surgery and/or Neurosurgery research projects

Certificates/Credentials/Licenses
Master's degree in Biostatistics or related field.
Computer Skills
Intermediate to advanced proficiency in the use of statistical software such as R, SAS, STATA, and/or SPSS required.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, Internet, email applications.
