Job Description
PURPOSE AND SCOPE:
It is the responsibility of the CC Trainers to provide the learning activities and support that will lead to the achievement of the course objectives and contribute to the educational environment of the department, college, and the community. The Trainer's role encompasses the general areas of learning facilitation and, when not instructing, may include taking part in other related functions, such as curriculum development, development and growth of the department, professional development, and institutional service. Primary responsibilities are to plan, develop and teach courses within the curriculum in a manner that facilitates student learning for employees of client companies.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
The work is sedentary. Typically, the employee sits comfortably to do the work. However, there may be some walking; standing; bending; carrying of light items, such as papers, books, or small parts; or driving an automobile. No special physical demands are required to perform the work.
WORK SCHEDULE & CONDITIONS:
Commensurate with education, experience and qualifications.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Teaches resulting in two or more of the following programs: Robotics Fundamentals, programmable logic controls programming, troubleshooting, electronic, base electricity, supervision, aerial lift and scissor lift, basic mechanical skills, electric safety, lean manufacturing, overhead crane and rigging and small engine repairs, and sensors.
- Serves as subject matter expert with an Instructional Designer to develop competency-based, client specialized courses for corporate clients
- Delivers competency-based technical training courses in traditional and hybrid modalities
- Reviews course content and objectives for topics listed above
- Maintains current knowledge of modern-day manufacturing techniques
- Serves as SME/consultant in modern-day manufacturing fields to, serves on grant committees and works with college leadership on projects
- Represents the college on various industry trade associations
- Responsible for other reasonable, related duties as assigned
- Working skills in programmable logic controls, electronics, sensors, manufacturing, and safety areas
- Initiative and analytical skills
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to interpret electrical prints
- Demonstrated skills in manufacturing field

WORK SCHEDULE & CONDITIONS:
- PC workstation running on a LAN in a Microsoft Windows environment
- Regularly drive to offsite, client locations as assigned within training contract and directed by Executive Director
- Hours will vary depending on client course schedule
- High school diploma or GED and at least 3 years of verified, paid work experience in industry as an machinist lead operator, machine setup lead, lathe operator automation technician, quality control technician
- Work experience and significant hands-on experience in one or more of the following:
- Print reading
- Shop math
- Professional experience in programmable logic controls and sensors
- Experience in use of electrical equipment
- Valid Texas Driver's License
- Associate degree in a related field
- Experience in adapting training techniques to students of both technical and nontechnical backgrounds
- Bilingual (English/Spanish)
- Veteran
