IFSA is seeking two Prearrival Counselors to directly contribute to IFSA's commitments around Inclusive Excellence and Intercultural Agility by supporting all students from the time they confirm their participation on a program until that program begins. You will serve as an expert on a program portfolio, working with students, their families, domestic and international partner universities, and IFSA colleagues to ensure that students are well-resourced and prepared for their IFSA experience abroad.

In this position, your responsibilities would include:
- Provide direct support to accepted students in the prearrival phase by maintaining and sharing critical information related to:
- Health and safety
- Visas
- Housing
- International travel to the host country
- Living and adjusting abroad
- Program academics
- Other key areas based on region or site of study
- Ensure the systematic and efficient handling of communications with accepted students prior to their arrival on site.
- Help to administer prearrival orientation sessions, coordinating closely with IFSA resident staff, the health and safety team, and other colleagues to ensure effective organization and delivery.
- For one of these positions, oversee the fair and efficient disbursement of IFSA's student scholarships, serve as a point person for scholarship questions, and manage scholarship-related communication with various stakeholders.
- Collect and verify required documentation as a part of students' checklists before departure.
- Maintain meticulous records on student data in Salesforce and other systems, producing reports and sharing information to help facilitate student preparation and arrival.
- Helping to cultivate and model practices and behaviors that reflect IFSA's organizational commitments of inclusive excellence, intercultural agility, individualized learning, and enduring impact.
- Having additional opportunities that may include contributing to other IFSA site operations via remote work, working with other IFSA departments such as Institutional Engagement, or contributing to cross-functional projects. Occasional domestic and international travel may be required to support programming, receive training, or meet with prospective students at study abroad events.

Requirements, Work Experience and Education
- 1-2 years of work experience in sectors such as higher education, customer service, study abroad, hospitality or non-profit.
- Contagious enthusiasm for IFSA's mission, vision and commitments.
- Success in engaging with and supporting students with diverse lived experiences including students of color, students with mental and physical disabilities, first-generation college students, and LGBTQIA+ students.
- Strong time management and planning skills, with the ability to work independently to execute time-sensitive tasks and duties successfully.
- Having a solutions-finding approach to work, with a goal to deliver results and continuously improve processes.
- Strong technology and software competencies, including the ability to engage with multiple systems; Microsoft Office / Excel experience required; Salesforce experience preferred.
- Proven ability to work well in a team and to engage effectively with colleagues across an organization
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Flexibility and ability to adapt and thrive in ambiguous and changing situations and to shift focus and reprioritize work as needed.
- Undergraduate degree preferred; familiarity with the USA undergraduate education system required.
- Experience living, working or studying in one or some of our study abroad destinations (including Latin America, U.K., Western Europe, Asia).
- Fluency in a language other than English is a plus.
- Existing legal authorization to work in USA.

Physical and Work Environment
- Working on a computer: placing phone/video calls, editing documents and spreadsheets, working in the student database and SharePoint sites.
- Ability to attend occasional meetings outside of local business hours, due to the global nature of our operations.
- Ability to travel independently, including via ground and air transportation.
- Ability to work overtime during the peak prearrival season in late fall, and to support other projects as assigned.
