Content Strategy Analyst
Gannett is looking for an analyst to oversee the performance and strategy of USA Today Play portfolio of online puzzles and games. This position would also provide analytics on OTT video efforts.
Play is a fast-growing and exciting new vertical at Gannett. We are seeking an analyst who can provide insight into data on audience, ad revenue and subscriptions.
This role can work remote from anywhere is the US except for Alaska & Hawaii.
Responsibilities:
- Help set and monitor KPIs.
- Work with USA Today and Content Ventures staff on crafting strategy for puzzles and off-platform video.
- Work with regional strategists and product to analyze performance of the product across multiple user journeys.
- This is about more than reports and spreadsheets. The strategist will exercise judgment in translating data points into actionable insights. The right candidate deeply understands data tools and knows how to apply their analytical mindset to content. This is a hands-on data job, and digging skills are required. But it's just as important that they understand how their research relates to modern users of our products, particularly on mobile devices.
- Ability to share information clearly to stakeholders via writing, data visualizations or conversations.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in communication, journalism, marketing, data science or analytics, or an equivalent combination of education and experience working with data.
- 3-5 years of experience in analytics, with a preference for content analytics. Expertise in Excel, Google Analytics, Looker/Data Studio, Google Ad Manager and other analytic and data tools.
- Ability to understand and analyze all aspects of a digital business P&L.
- Ability to think critically, work independently and strategically to solve complex business problems, interpret analyses and present solutions that address business needs.
- Experience identifying, analyzing, and using data to independently test theories, confirm assumptions, and measure success via iteration and with attention to detail.
- Preferred: A passion online casual games, especially crosswords.

The annualized base salary for this role will range between $68,400 and $161,00. Variable compensation is not reflected in these figures and based on the role, may be applicable.
