Employee Benefits Manager
Association of Washington Cities (AWC) is recruiting a full-time Employee Benefits Manager to join our dynamic and customer-orientated team. This position manages the day-to-day operations of the contracted Employee Benefit Trust (Trust) program, providing ongoing leadership, with oversight of the health benefit operations staff, member advocacy, and management of vendors and other consultants. The incumbent performs a wide variety of duties that involve working closely with assigned staff in providing excellent customer service, including monitoring of member inquiries and supplying ongoing training and development of staff that are providing technical assistance to member employers, their employees, COBRA participants, retirees and service providers.

The salary range for this position is $87,851 to $131,777. The top candidate's placement within the range will reflect education, training, and experience consistent with AWC policies.
This position may be eligible for telework during certain times of the year or for certain time periods, subject to director approval and as determined by the needs of AWC.
What you'll be doing
- Provide strong supervisory and leadership skills to coordinate, delegate, and assign duties to achieve goals stated in the annual work plan
- Manage and update overall work plan of Trust operations to coincide with the Trust Strategic Plan and make recommendations of change to the Program Director
- Assist in the administration of all benefit programs, including medical, dental, vision, life, long term disability, employee assistance program, tax-favored accounts, and long-term care
- Coordinate the efforts of the program operations and member advocacy, including all staff assigned to ensure commitment to the mission and goals set forth by the organization
- Coordinate with Marketing & Field Service Manager assigning staff when needed to attend benefit fairs and provide benefit presentations
- Plan an educational program for current and potential members, including benefit seminars, webinars, eLearning modules, coordinating with health promotion campaigns
What you bring to the team
- Bachelor's degree in business, healthcare, or related field; experience may be substituted year-for-year for academic achievement
- Two years' experience in a supervisory position or demonstrated ability
- Five years' experience in benefits administration or work with a multi-employer association or non-profit organization
- HIPAA privacy training
- Extensive working knowledge of benefits, including deductibles, co-insurance, co-pays, and prescription formularies
- Must maintain a Washington State driver's license in good standing
